I totally, completely, ridiculously hate maternity photo shoots. I understand the exhilaration that comes along with all sorts of firsts in our lives, which is probably why so many couples do these kinds of shoots. But what about your future children? Are you going to do a photo shoot for each subsequent pregnant belly? Probably not. I'm all for family photos, but the majority of your friends and family do not want to see your man kissing your bare, 8 month pregnant, belly. I've even seen nude ones done. That's traumatizing.
Please don't misunderstand, I'm not talking about the pictures you take from the side to chart your progress, those are darling. AND, again, this is only my opinion on my blog. It's cool to disagree, in fact - it's healthy :)

Oh my gosh, finally someone who agrees with me! Ha.. these pictures make me so uncomfortable - I don't like looking at peoples naked tummies.. even if there is an adorable baby in there! And I feel bad for the future kids because only the first kid got a photo shoot. At least i know you wont judge me when I don't get any done :)
When I saw the title of this post on my blogroll, i thought, "yes!" I love controversial blog posts :) But this one I happen to agree with with about 95% of my heart. Most are uncomfortable at best, at worst some are just plain gross, but occasionally (very occasionally) I can handle them.
I thought you would be the kind of person that would do a plaster cast of her belly, including boobs, paint it and post the process pics on your blog. I guess you learn something new everyday ;) hehe kidding, kidding
ps, I agree
No way is that offensive. I find those photos disgusting and wrong also. But, maybe that is because I look extremely disgusting pregnant? Argh. I hate taking those pictures of even my belly for progress. People love to see how chubby you get though.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I hate it too!
I hate them too.
what about when the husbands hands are making a heart over the wife's belly button? that is PRESH! ;)
Completely Agree! Thanks for telling the world for us. :)
Amen sista! If there's a shirt over that huge-o belly, I'm fine. But I don't want to see any hearts or belly kissing. Because that's weird.
But man oh man. I'm so tempted to send you some that will for sure make you want to puke. Lets just say she used it more as a playboyesque shoot than a normal pregnancy shoot. *insert hurling motion here*
Agreed! I like (to make fun of)the photos after the baby is born the best. When the parents are holding a naked baby against their naked chests embracing one another. When does that happen? If I'm naked and jobys naked we don't then get cru for a naked embrace together..(We put him down for a nap becaus its business time(TMI))Artistic these photos are not. And don't put them in the entry way to your house. Its unsettling to visitors..
