My sister bought me this book for my birthday. It was a good, interesting story and a nice, easy read. This post is not a book review. I came across a quote while reading that really struck me. At the time I underlined it because I liked it, but now I'm not so sure.
"You make a life out of what you have, not out of what you're missing"
I like it for these reasons: life is truly what we make it, again - comparing with others and basing our happiness on haves or have-nots is no good, and we should not focus on what we think we're lacking and ignore our blessings.
Why is dislike this quote: who determines what a "normal" life consists of? What is missing if you are happy with life?
I see the point of the quote, to focus on what we have and be grateful everyday for our blessings and don't get too caught up in what we think we don't have. I just wish it was, "You make a life out of what you have, not out of what you think you're missing"

I quoted this to someone just last night (whistles *twilight zone* theme)
I like your version better. :) xx
I agree with you. I like that you added "think" to it, because it's very true.
You're brilliance is appreciated, as always.
I love this! :)
Oh and I loved the post about being kind to each other.
