Truly one of the things that causes me to full body shudder is the thought of someone serenading me. If said event actually happens I can't do the shudder because that would be rude, so I sit there with a fake grin and try to avoid an aneurysm. It's difficult, to say the least.
The type of instrument that is being played is of no matter, I just don't want any part of any of that. I'm sure other people like being sang to, I am just not one of those people. I find it incredibly awkward and I don't know what to say or do in that situation.
I saw a movie tonight where this happened. A guy playing a guitar and singing to a girl on a first date (the horror) and I leaned over to my roommate and whispered probably a bit too loudly, "this is my nightmare!". I'm guessing everyone in the theater is now aware of this fun Rachel fact.

I am totally with you on this one. I even hate Christmas carolers. It's SO awkward to stand there while they sing multiple carols. Do you smile? Do you clap? I am one of those people that will pretend I'm not home when carolers come. If a man serenaded me, I think it would be over.
Hello Rachels blog! I havent worked at Sorenson in a while so it was time to catch up for sure. But I just have to say, I have been serinated accapella(by my blind date) and then again by my cousin(by far the worst pain experienced in my life. Note:I've given birth twice, and had kidney stones). So first hand experienced this... twice, each worse than the last. Unless someone can be funny and improve rap on the spot, but that is intirely different. Have a great day beautiful Rachel!
Oh my gosh agreed. Do you watch the bachelorette? Do you remember when "guard and protect your heart" dude serenaded Ally? The WORST thing ever.
Worst thing in the world. I agree.
